About fTelnet
fTelnet is an ActionScript 3 project written with Adobe Flash Builder 4. Development started August 2nd, 2010, and the first online beta test was a few days later on August 9th, 2010. Rapid development was aided by the fact that the Ansi, Crt, and Telnet code found in my C# doorkit was ported easily to the ActionScript syntax.
I want to thank the following people for helping with the development in some way:
| Everybody sending in feedback | The list of people submitting feedback and helping improve fTelnet and HtmlTerm was just getting too long, so I've now shortened it to this single entry. You all deserve the biggest thanks though, because as nice as donations are, feedback telling me about the different ways you've found fTelnet and HtmlTerm useful are even better! |
| Anybody who has donated | You know who you are. Thanks! A few bucks in my PayPal account once in awhile is always an unexpected but welcome surprise! |
| Peter Nitsch | Author of FlashTerm. Had he not first proved that it was possible to build a great telnet client in Flash, I probably wouldn't have tried. |
| Rob Swindell | Author of SEXYZ. His YModem-G implementation was referenced many times while I implemented file transfer support in fTelnet. Oh, he also wrote a little BBS package you may be familiar with: Synchronet, which powers the official fTelnet and HtmlTerm Support BBS. |
| Stephen Hurd | Author of SyncTerm. I referenced his detailed specs on ANSI for a few of the less commonly used ANSI escape sequences. |
| dVyper | Created the Alert class that I'm using in fTelnet. |
| Ansilove | I copied and modified the Amiga fonts from the Ansilove project, which saved me from having to create them myself. |
| Crystal Project | I used their 3.5" floppy image as the icon on my Save File(s) button. |
| Sascha Höhne | I used their General Connect image as the icon on my CONNECT button, and in the fTelnet logo. |
