fTelnet Example

This HTML document contains the default installation of fTelnet. As noted below (in the source code), the table with the display options (font size, screen size, border style) is only for testing purposes, and would not normally be included in an actual installation (although there's no reason why it can't be, if you want to allow your users to control how the client looks)

The only other thing you'll need in order to get fTelnet up and running is a socket policy server. Some BBS software now comes with this built in, but if yours doesn't, then a nice one is available from Aspect Technologies.

A few of the elements of fTelnet can be customized by you, to give your own unique look:

The ANSI displayed behind the connect button (if you have AutoConnect disabled) can be customized by replacing img\connect.ans with your own ANSI file
The CONNECT button can be customized by replacing img\Connect*.png. The UP file is the default image, the OVER file is displayed when the user moves the mouse over the button, and the DOWN file is displayed when the user clicks on the button
The SAVE FILE(S) button can be customized by replacing img\SaveFiles*.png. The same rules apply as above

NB: If you see an ActionScript error (Security sandbox violation) and/or don't see the fTelnet client control below, it's likely because you're opening this document locally (address bar shows file://) rather than via a web server (address bar shows http://). Sorry for the inconvenience! If you want to test without uploading anything to your web server, you can always visit the fTelnet.ca homepage.
